The fissures and cracks between the teeth can easily imprison food fragments and it is very difficult to properly clean them, because even one toothbrush bristle is often too thick to reach the bottom of the crack.<\/p><p>Further to traditional measures such as teeth brushing and flossing, the bonding of cracks and fissures is an easy, effective and affordable preventive measure compared to tooth repair following a dental cavity. This procedure is recommended in most cases to protect <em>the first and second<\/em> <em>permanent molars<\/em>(called adult teeth) in children between the ages of 6 and 13.<\/p><p>The bonding procedure only takes a few minutes and is performed without local anaesthesia. The dental sealing comes in the form of a liquid resin that seeps through the tooth\u2019s porosities, fissures and cracks during the procedure. Fracture risks of a tooth are also present when the tooth has suffered a root canal treatment, because it becomes devitalized therefore is often more fragile and friable.<\/p><p>To avoid fractures and to protect the sides of fragile teeth, replacement crowns and inlay restorations become essential.
